Ryan Andrew Myers was born on August 27, 2008 at 1:40pm. He weighed 7 lbs., 7 oz. and was 19.5 in. long. Mom and baby are doing extremely well; needless to say, we are all extremely happy!

Brief Outing

We went to a little get together last weekend at the house of some friends. We were not gone long; it was a rough day for both mommy and Joseph, but we did manage to capture this charming moment: Joseph and Hadley making beautiful music together!

37 Weeks and Not Happy

I really am annoyed in this picture, just as I have been annoyed with everything for the past week or so, not the least of which has been my amazing discomfort. Without going into detail, let's just say that I have had a number of "signs" that tell me that this baby is coming any day now. Which put another way could also mean that this baby won't come for another 3 weeks.

Almost 33 weeks. I am not usually comfortable with bare belly shots of myself, but I caught a glimpse of this spectacular entity and was both appalled and amazed by it's prominence. And yes, there is just one in there. There had better be...

For My Mom

I hear the buzz of a Summer day
so hot in the house
but it smells good
the house smelled different
depending on the season
We never had air conditioning
in our own little galaxy
but I really didn’t care
because it added to the smell that I know so well
and the Beatles are singing about the taxman
only vaguely did I know what he was
but I really didn’t care
because it added to the sound of Summer
the sound and smell of Mom
that makes the day so much more comfortable
and the threat of a phone call
from the neighbors
wanting me to play football
when all I want to do is drift through
another Summer day
with Mom
and I knew that she wanted me there
just as much as I wanted to be there

In Loving Memory

Linda L. Myers, 65, of Cedarburg died Monday July 7^th, 2008 at home in the presence of her family.

Linda was born in Waterloo, IA on January 7^th, 1943 to Hortense (nee Butler) Bowman and Miles Bowman. She married James Myers June 18, 1966 in Milwaukee. Linda attended UW-LaCrosse and was a Volunteer Coordinator for Cope Services from 1986 to 1993. She was an active member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg and was a member of the choir who enjoyed weaving, knitting, her sons, her daughters-in-law, and her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jim, sons Andrew (Jane) and Joseph (Melissa), grandchildren Zachary, Alex, John, Elizabeth and Joseph James, and a brother Ben. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Richard.

The family gives special thanks to the nurses and staff of Vitas Hospice, her many friends who gave support during her illness, and the Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg. Contributions in her memory made to the MS Society, the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, or the St. Francis Building Fund are welcome.

29 Weeks

Ryan Andrew will likely be here in less than 10 weeks! I had a dream last night that I went into labor; can't believe I am going to go through that again.

Our Playdate

Mom and Joseph had a playdate yesterday with Jill and Hadley. A fantastic time was had by all. Unfortunately, these are the best pictures I got. Jill is demonstrating proper camera use to a captivated audience of toddlers...By the way, for better pictures visit Jill's blog.

Ooops!

After an unfortunate incident a few weeks ago, I have made a point every morning of moving the wipes out of Joseph's reach when I leave him to play in his room while I shower...This morning I forgot.

Fathers Day

We had a simple, lovely Fathers Day in the Burg with Joe's parents. Our friends Joe and Anna even stopped by with their little one Claire, and newby Maria. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pics of Joseph and Claire's parallel play, but rest assured that a fun time was had by all.
